"To you - to me" - luxurious temp. studios.
Radio Devons new building was completed during the Summer of 1993. During this period the BBC had also "occupied" No.65 St.Davids Hill, an end terraced house, where the lounge became the Prod. Office, and the main upstairs bedroom the Newsroom. A smaller bedroom was the Managers office, and the Engineers were housed in the old kitchen at the back of the building where there was the luxury of an outside toilet!

John Pierce
On 30th September 1983, the new building was officially opened by Director General - Alisdair Milne.
BBC Radio Devon was a success and had built up a large audience against tough competition from the well established ILR Station DevonAir Radio, which was sited just down the road, at a building which had once been considered for the BBC site.
Several DevonAir staff moved from there across to the BBC - one of the earliest presenters - John Pierce.
Early day presenters who still Broadcast to this day were Douglas Mounce, a regular voice on the local opt-out, and North Devon's Ian Brass, who quickly earned the nickname Brasso and became reknowned for early morning cheek!
